Finished in Paradise

Well, today was the last activity in Paradise. I attended the baby shower for Kelsey at Kimberly's house. It was a very nice affair and she got lots of much needed baby items. There were about 15 ladies there and several were pregnant or had little ones. Oh to be young again, oh yeah, that was harder than retirement, lol.

Monday I'll go to the midwife appointment with Kelsey and if she's not in labor, we're heading out of town. There's still some friends and siblings we might visit before we have to be back in Las Vegas. Maybe Paul will just want to find a quiet place to rest.

Not much else to report except the movie we saw today. Joy, Paul and I went to see "New in Town" with Renee Zellwegger and Harry Connick Jr. It was way funny, all 3 of us really enjoyed it. OH, and it's rated PG.

Paul and I also went to the movies with my dad and Lorene. We saw "Paul Blart, Mall Cop". That was much better than the previews suggest. We were surprised at how hard we all laughed. That one is also rated PG. (Thank goodness there are more movies that aren't full of sex and bad language.)

Happy in Paradise

I've spent the last 2 weeks visiting all 5 of my beautiful daughters. Unfortunately I only got 2 days with Candy in Fresno and Kristi spent a day visiting here from Portland Oregon.

Good news, the girls are all well, healthy and have BEAUTIFUL children. I did get to spend a little time in the pool with several grand kids.

I have also spent 6 days total (2 at a time) going to Cottonwood (Red Bluff) California visiting my best friend, Joy. We knit, crocheted, quilted and ran errands. We even saw a movie, Twilight, which I'd missed up till now. She took me to the Quilters Guild meeting the other night and I learned much about quilting. The ladies were friendly and helpful. They have a big quilt show coming up this spring (wish I was going to be there). I'm excited to get back home and start quilting with the fabric she sent home with me.

Still no news on Paul's health. He's holding his own but it doesn't appear that he's received the hoped for improvement. His Dr's appointment isn't until February 13th. More after that happens.

Hip-Hip Hooray

We had an appointment with Paul's heart doctor after his last EECP treatment today. (drum roll...) And the verdict is (more drum roll)
We're free for a month. He said to give the treatments a month to work and make the decision then, about the next step. He said that if Paul isn't improved he'll do another angiogram and decide if further stents can improve his blood flow or if another bypass is the ONLY option left available.

Well, it's not exactly what we hoped for but at this point, we're just VERY relieved to have some free time to escape this town for a little while. It looks like we'll head to Paradise to visit with 3 of my daughters and go to Red Bluff to see my long time friend, Joy.

We are grateful that Heavenly Father has preserved us and provided for us this past 4 months. We are also VERY thankful to our dear friends in Homer for the loving care they've provided for our home and mail.

Our next update with the doctor is Feb. 13th, and I'll follow-up then with the future plans.
